It’s mid Jan 2024 and the Christmas season is behind us. Christmas decorations and lights are all packed away. My year started with an appointment for a CT scan and a meeting with my oncologist.
Going into this CT was a little worrying due to a pain in my chest that started just before Christmas. The scan showed that I have broken a rib bone, probably while coughing. I learned later that this is actually not as rare as I first thought.
It feels amazing to start planning f0r 2024. Looking forward to family time – meals, walks, movies, travel plans together, to visiting friends and relations in India, USA and Canada and a new role at work.
It’s been a very cold winter with more snow than we have seen in years. My indoor plants kept the ‘gardening spirit’ in me going through the winter. It is wonderful to watch an orchid bloom, after almost a year of waiting. The azalea is now over 2 years old. Both plants have the most delicate white blooms. As the days get longer and brighter, I look forward to spring and gardening outdoors.
