A twist in the road

Sometimes a twist in the road is just that and other times it can be a major stop. Over the last years, I have been reminded multiple times that life is fragile.

At the end of April, my health team was looking at new treatment options for me. However, when I met my oncologist, early May, I was told that the situation had changed and immunotherapy would therefore continue as planned. The samples taken during the bronchoscopy did not show any signs of diseased cells and the air pocket around the lung was reduced.

Family and friends around the world have been praying and wishing me well throughout this journey. The body has the power to heal itself and perhaps this time it did just that. Thankful for the gift of healing and the hope this brings.

For now, I have much to be thankful for. Enjoying the warmer weather in June and a lot more time in the garden on the weekends. We have short trips planned with close friends and the family during the summer. Work continues, at a reduced pace, and I am planning a work trip, next week. I have not been travelling on work, the last few years. Looking forward to this one.

For now, it was a twist in the road. A new scan awaits mid June and new rounds of treatment.
