This is the last week before my summer holidays. I love the summer months for the flowers and the greenery, though the winter months are easier for me, no pollen allergy to deal with. The next three weeks, we plan to spend time together with our sons and their partners, travel a little, relax, do some gardening and go for long walks.
On a more personal note, I just got my CT results and my treatment has helped. It is a relief going into holiday weeks to know that things are going well and my body is coping with the treatment and healing slowly.
At the time of my cancer diagnosis, a colleague advised me to stay active and keep training. Our body needs all the help it can get to fight disease and eating healthy and staying fit are two simple ways to do that. Avoiding added sugars, alcohol and red meats when possible helps me. I also drink a glass of warm water with a teaspoon of turmeric and black pepper powder, and have a cup or two of green tea daily. This helps reduce inflammation and provides antioxidants. Small steps on my journey!
I have so much to be thankful for and so much to look forward to. Excited for what the future holds!
