Last weekend, more than 30 European lung cancer patient organizations gathered in Budapest for the Lung Cancer Europe (LuCE) Members’ Meeting in Budapest. I had the pleasure of representing the Norwegian Lung cancer association (Lungekreftforeningen) at this meeting.
We discussed many important topics like the effects of lung cancer on mental health, equal access to treatment across Europe, better access to diagnostics, and the use of NGS (Next Gen Sequencing) before starting therapy.
I took along the book “Hver dag teller – lungekreftboka” (“Every Day Counts – the Lung Cancer Book”), where I share my personal story with lung cancer, based on the first two years after my diagnosis. Many delegates found the book inspiring and may consider using the idea in their own national work.
It was inspiring to exchange ideas with delegates and patient advocates from across Europe. Together we can improve the prospects for ‘living with a lung cancer diagnosis’.
Thankful for the opportunity!
