This weekend marked the end of January and some of the coldest days, this winter. It is also a month since our grandson was born. It is an indescribable joy watching and holding him, babysitting or ‘praming’ in town.
January was also another month of chemo for me. My recent blood tests show that the chemo is helping reduce the CEA levels (one of the cancer markers). My job is to stay healthy by continuing to eat healthy and get some exercise. Due to the risk of infection, I stopped training at the gym and started yoga at home, following online classes for breathing and stretching.
My CT scan from January shows a decrease in the size of a few tumors while others are still the same as earlier. Thankfully, there is no sign of new tumors. February starts with a new round of chemo, pre-medication and post-medication and the monitoring cycle repeats.
Friends and family from far and near are constantly in touch, giving me the mental strength to keep moving forward, with my husband, by my side. I have much to be thankful for and so much to look forward to in 2026, staying positive and doing what I can to stay healthy and get better.
