Living with change is what it’s all about

Mid September, while most of the garden is slowing down for the winter there are a few plants like this one, that are still flowering. The berry bushes are pruned and a few perennials have been transplanted to more appropriate spots in the garden. It’s wonderful how the garden evolves as we learn about the plants and gardening. Every year we find a few new plants, new spots for some existing plants and new garden ideas.

Monday, this week I had a follow-up CT scan. These scan are scheduled after every 3 rounds of treatment, approximately 9 – 10 weeks apart. It’s a lot of radiation but that is what it takes for my medical team to keep an eye on the situation. Results are expected next week. I am feeling good and strong, so for now I am keeping busy, training and staying positive.

As a board member at the lung cancer patient group in Norway and Lung cancer Europe, there is a lot I would like to do. Access to newer and better treatments, coupled with early diagnosis are important to bring hope to families and communities across the country and in Europe.

In this time of AI hype, Lung cancer Europe is working on a lung cancer chatbot that will be based on content that has been curated. I am very happy to contribute to this initiative. We aim to help patients and their communities understand this disease a little better. I am hopeful that it will be launched this year.

So much to do as we head towards winter and the Christmas season. Looking forward to it!
